Enterprise Names

The current Brazilian Civil Code, Law No. 10.046 of January 10, 2002, Article 1155 and subsequent, deals with the Enterprise Name, formerly called Trade Name.

The Article 1166, Sole Paragraph, establishes that the enterprise name will only have full guarantee of exclusivity within the boundaries of the original state, being allowed to broaden the protection if registered in each one of the Register’s Board of Trade in Brazil.
